Lend a Paw and Help Feed Maui’s At-Risk Pets

MAUI (KITV4) - Many Maui residents suffered job loss during the pandemic and delays receiving unemployment, feeding and caring for their own human family was the primary concern.

The Maui Humane Society 4EverPets program is a community outreach initiative that was developed during COVID to assist financially impacted pet owners to help provide the basics for their pets to avoid having to surrender them.

From October 15 - 31st  Maui Humane Society is organizing a donation drive for dog/cat food and supplies as inventory is running low.

"It was devastating for families to have to give up their pets during this stressful time when they felt they had no other choice. Preserving the human-animal bond and keeping pets in homes is one of our organization’s priorities,” said Steve MacKinnon, CEO of Maui Humane Society.

Businesses, schools, community groups, and individuals are invited to participate by hosting their own pet food drives on behalf of 4EverPets pet food bank.

Participating businesses/groups who host food drives will be invited to bring their donation to MHS at the conclusion of the event to weigh their total

donation, take a group picture with the MHS sign for social media, and determine who raised the most contributions!
