Students in Alaska collect hundreds of socks for homeless residents
Students in Alaska may just blow everyone's socks off by their unique attempt to help the homeless.
Last year, they collected 1,400 pairs of socks, later donated to the homeless residents of Anchorage. But now, they're raising the bar, and want to collect at least 1,500 pairs this year.
When asked about the reason behind their effort, the students said, "Just put yourself in a homeless person's shoes."
They plan to donate the socks to Project Homeless Connect -- a nationwide event that's trying to reduce homelessness.
