Family remembers Waianae man involved in fatal motorcycle crash
The man who was killed in a deadly motorcycle crash in Ewa Beach this weekend has been identified.
Saturday around 5:40 p.m., 30-year-old Robin Yamaguchi of Waianae, was traveling southbound on Kehue Street when the motorcycle he was on collided with a Scion.
The 50-year-old man operating the Scion, along with his two passengers, were uninjured.
Yamaguchi was not wearing a helmet, and was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries and died.
His mother, Tracyly Swinson provided the following statement about her son, "Our son Robin, who was known as Moose to many, was a loving son, a loving big brother, a true friend, and most of all, an awesome father to his two sons. He had such a big heart and if you asked him for anything he would find a way to get it for you. There is a void in our lives now that he is gone. But he will always be remembered for his kindheartedness and loving spirit. We all love and miss you dearly son but we know your spirit lives on through your sons...until we meet again!"
Yamaguchi was also recently engaged to Brandee Lyman, who she says proposed just this past December on Christmas Day.
"Our sons and I were his world as he always told me. He was an amazing father. Our love for each other was definitely unconditional. I miss you my love! Our boys miss their daddy so much! Fly high!" Lyman wrote in a statement.
Officials say speed appeared to a contributing factor on the motorcycle. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors. The investigation in ongoing.
This is the second traffic fatality this year, compared to two during the same time last year.
