CrimeSpotter: Man wanted after sending threatening message, violating protective order and probation
The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) and CrimeStoppers is alerting the public of a man wanted for a $20,000 cash only bench warrant for failure to comply with the terms of his probation.
In June 2014, a witness received messages from a male acquaintance who stated he was going to kill the victim and her family. The witness then contacted the victim, who is her friend, and informed her of the threat.
A police report was filed, and the next day, the male when to the victim's residence and called out to her -- violating the protective order.
Police were called and located the male at his residence, and identified him as 34-year-old Curtis Hughes. He was subsequently placed under arrest for first degree terroristic threatening and protective order violation.
Hughes has 10 prior convictions against him, and is known to frequent the Honolulu area.
He is described as being 5'6" tall, weighing 127 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.
