On the Big Island, new details have surfaced on 30-year-old Malcolm Utecht. 

Hawaii County Police say he was found naked standing above the body of another man who was stabbed to death in a home in Puna. He's been charged for second degree murder and several other charges. 

The Hawaii Tribune Herald reports he is a former Army sergeant originally from Northern California, and has several other criminal charges that date back to 2009. 

Utecht is scheduled to be back in court Friday.

Big Island Police also identified the man Utecht is accused of killing in the Eden Roc subdivision as 71-year-old Solomon Matthews. An autopsy shows he died of a stab wound to the neck.

Utecht's bail is set at $553,000.
