Mark Wahlberg headlines Sony Open Pro Am
The 2020 Sony Open Pro Am was headlined by Hollywood A-list actor Mark Wahlberg who was paired up with Justin Thomas, this past Sunday's winner on Maui in the Sentry Tournament of Champions. KITV4's Cody Krupp caught up with both following their round.
Wind affect your game?
Mark: "No my game was struggling anyway I finally got my priorities in order. I focus on my day job, my primary business which is making movies not playing golf so just out here to enjoy it. Got a project with Sony so got to play with a couple of friends who are real golfers so it's been fun."
Did you know Justin before this?
"We have played quite a few times, really fine young man. Very excited about his win last week and we had a good time."
Predictions on this week's NFL action?
"Patriots are out so interested in seeing what Lamar Jackson is going to do with the Ravens. Playoffs is just a different energy so it will be interesting to see. Thinking 49ers vs. Ravens Super Bowl."
Will Brady be in New England anymore?
"Tom deserves to do whatever is right for Tom. Greatest of all time. Just hope he's healthy and happy."
"I've always heard from other people in the film industry how hard he works so it's kind of cool to ask him questions and kind of pick his brain. Just kind of how he goes about it but he didn't play great today. He has always had his own method he aims way left and comes across it and hits it pretty far because he lofts it a little bit but he can get it around pretty good. One thing you are always going to have when you play with Mark is that it's going to be fast. Never have to worry about slow play he gets around there pretty good"
Favorite movie of Wahlberg?
"That's tough man, he has a lot of good ones. Shooter is a good one. I don't know many it just depends on the mood Ted is hysterical."
