Former co-workers remember man killed in recent officer-involved shooting
The man shot and killed by a Honolulu police officer yesterday was identified by the Honolulu Medical Examiner on Wednesday as 27-year-old Dana Brown of Kapolei.
Honolulu Police Chief Susan Ballard says Brown was spotted driving the wrong way on a stolen moped and brandishing a knife. When he failed to comply, HPD says Brown was tasered then shot.
He was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead.
6 years ago Brown worked at Safelight Auto Glass near the airport. Coworkers say Brown worked in the warehouse for 6-months then quit.
"Picked up everything pretty quickly. Had no issues with him but other than that, pretty well rounded guy. I'm shocked about it. I know in my heart he was a good guy," said a former co-worker who wanted to remain anonymous.
The family is asking privacy during this time.
