There are more clouds over the islands, including high clouds overhead.

That will mean a cloudier and cooler day.

Trade winds will be easterlies at 15-30 today, but winds will slowly be dropping, so expect stronger gusts to start off the day.

A band of showers from an old cold front is moving down the state. For windward and mauka areas, there will also be numerous showers. Leeward sides could also see some rain thanks to the windy weather blowing the showers into lee areas.

Afternoon high temperatures will reach the low-to-mid 80s. Temperatures will also feel cooler thanks to the gusty trades.

For those heading out to the beach, conditions will be blustery for eastern beaches where a high surf advisory remains posted. Expect waves of 6-10 feet for eastern shores. A new northerly swell will boost the surf for northern shores into the 16-22 foot range -- a high surf advisory is posted there too....while western beaches will have surf of 5-8 feet, southern shores will be the smallest at 2-3 feet.

After gusty trades today...winds will back off a bit this week but still remain breezy. There will also be more numerous showers for Monday and Tuesday then the atmosphere will dry out a bit.
