Shoppers gear up for Black Friday
The holiday shopping season officially begins now.
The National Retail Federation says that the five days between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday will still be some of the busiest shopping days of the year.
The Federation projects that more than 114 million consumers will shop on Black Friday, which makes it the biggest shopping day out of the entire weekend.
Black Friday is a misnomer, many retailers start their sales on Thanksgiving Day, which is part of a trend of getting a jumpstart on Black Friday.
Shoppers lined up early at Best Buy in Pearl City, it's a 10-year-old annual tradition for one group of campers.
"They're for Family Programs Hawaii who support the foster childrens' programs and throw events throughout the year," Ipo Morris of Kahalu'u said.
If you do decide to battle the crowds on Black Friday do your homework. Several websites have all the big store offers in one place.
Official store apps are loaded with helpful maps, countdown timers and deal finders.
Whether you're an early bird of a tech savvy turkey day traditionalist the holiday countdown has already begun.
