An Aiea high school senior's wish to hold a community blood drive in Pearl City came true on Sunday.

This is Kylie Alarcon second time organizing a community blood drive.

It was a partnership with the Hawaii Community blood bank. They say 60 percent of the population will need blood at some point in their life.

Alarcon says she was inspired to hold the drive after volunteering at the Red Cross showed her how important having blood is to saving.
