Sunday forecast: trade winds gradually return
The south swell peaks today with a High Surf Advisory in effect for all south-facing shores.
Light trade winds are expected to return this afternoon, then continue through Tuesday. Clouds and showers will return to the typical windward and mauka locations for the overnight and early morning hours. Light winds will keep a sea breeze weather pattern with clouds and a chance of isolated showers for leeward and central areas through the afternoon and early evening.
Today we have partly cloudy conditions across the state. Highest rain chances are for Kauai County and the Big Island with scattered showers expected later in the day.
The south swell peaks today. A High Surf Advisory is in effect for all south-facing shores across the state until 6PM tonight.
A moderate northwest swell peaks tomorrow. We're expecting a larger northwest swell to roll in Thursday/Friday.
