Katherine Kealoha to stand trial again for a case she's already won
Just when it appeared to be over, Katherine Kealoha will have to stand trial again -- this time for a case she already won.
Last week, a state judge granted a new civil trial for Katherine's grandmother and uncle -- Florence and Gerard Puana.
In 2013, the two sued Katherine to try to get her to pay back money Katherine took from a reverse mortgage on her grandmother's home, and money Gerard gave Katherine to invest.
Florence and Gerard lost that case and were ordered to pay Katherine more than $650,000.
They're now hoping to avoid paying that money especially because the Kealohas are now considered criminals after losing their cases in Federal Court.
According to court documents, the state judge handling the new civil case granted it because Florence and Gerard presented enough evidence to show Katherine committed fraud during the civil trial.
A new trial date has not been set.
