NANAKULI - A man is dead and a woman and infant are in critical condition after crashing their pickup truck on Hakimo Road Sunday night.

According to officials - around 11:02 p.m., a gray colored Chevrolet pickup truck being driven by a 22 year-old male was traveling northbound on Hakimo Road at a high rate of speed.

For unknown reasons, the pickup truck spun out and collided with a utility pole. As a result of this collision, the driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

A 22 year-old front female passenger along with an infant passenger who was also in the front seat were both transported to another hospital in critical condition.

The 22 year-old female passenger's condition was later upgraded to serious, but the infant passenger's condition is still listed as critical.

Although speed appears to be a contributing factor in this collision, it is unknown is alcohol or drugs are also contributing factors.

This was the 42nd traffic fatality of this year. The investigation ongoing.
