Basketball returns to the Stan Sheriff Center court this week with both exhibition action for the Rainbow Warriors and Rainbow Wahine before their regular seasons start next week.

For UH women's basketball head coach Laura Beeman and her squad that will be Tuesday vs. Hawaii Pacific (7:30pm) an there is a lot of reason to be excited for what is to come. Beeman told KITV4 that she has brought in her best incoming class of her eight years under the helm and combining that with returners that were just one quarter away from winning the Big West Tournament and earning a spot into the NCAA Tournament.

"I think it's momentum with just a tinge of saltiness. Maybe that is just me. I think the girls look back on that championship game in the Big West and thought wow we had it but just couldn't close it," Beeman said referring to their 17-point lead to UC Davis before the Aggies came back to win 58-50.

"Little bit of motivation. Pushing these young ladies to get back here and do some things we should have done last year that we didn't. I haven't been this excited about this group. Again growing pains, baby steps, but I'm really excited about what they are going to do," Beeman finished.

The regular season will get underway November 5th at 7pm in the Stan Sheriff Center vs. San Diego State.
