(Hawaii Athletics) - The University of Hawai'i football team will travel to "The Big House" for a non-conference game at Michigan in 2022. That game headlines several changes and additions to the Rainbow Warriors upcoming football schedules.

UH made its first visit to Michigan Stadium in 2016 and will play again Sept. 10, 2022. It will be the fourth meeting between the schools. UH and Duquesne were originally scheduled for Sept. 10 in Honolulu but will now move to Sept. 17 to accommodate the Michigan game.

Hawai'i and New Mexico State also announced an in-season, home-and-home series in 2021. The teams were already scheduled to meet Sept. 25 in Las Cruces, N.M., and added a second date of Oct. 23 at Aloha Stadium. The additional game will now make it a six-game series along with games on Oct. 10, 2020 in Honolulu; Oct. 15, 2022 in Las Cruces, N.M.; Sept. 23, 2023 in Honolulu; and Aug. 24, 2024 in Las Cruces, N.M.

Hawai'i leads the all-time series with NMSU, 8-0. The teams played every year from 2005-11 while members of the Western Athletic Conference. NMSU is now one of six independents in FBS.

In addition, a pair of home-and-home series with Wisconsin and Army during both the 2022 and 2024 seasons were canceled.
