"We're building a wall on the border of New Mexico. And we're building a wall in Colorado. We're building a beautiful wall. A big one that really works."

A major mistake from President Trump-- when he mentioned building a wall in Colorado.

The president making the comments Tuesday at a conference in Pittsburgh -- while speaking out about border wall progress.

At last check -- the state doesn't go along the U.S. / Mexico border. This comes as work crews in South Texas are laying steel along the border.

The governor of Colorado, Jared Polis, later posting this comment on his Twitter page which reads: "Well this is awkward ...Colorado doesn't border mexico. Good thing Colorado now offers free full-day kindergarten so our kids can learn basic geography."

President Trump -- later elaborated on Twitter with his comments saying he was "kidding" and that he was trying to refer to Colorado as "benefiting" from the wall's construction.
