Old Hilo Hospital site opens as an Ohana Zone
Hawaii Island's first Ohana Zone facility is temporarily home to more than twenty single men.
The Keolahou Shelter, located at the the Old Hilo Memorial Hospital opened last Monday.
It's equipped with washers, dryers, a kitchen with food supplies, restrooms, and showers.
The emergency shelter and assessment center serves Hawaii Island's homeless population, specifically single men, with health services, job training, and connecting them to jobs.
