Police looking for vandals in turbine damage case, AES responds
Honolulu police are looking for suspects involved in two separate criminal property damage cases.
Sunday morning, police say someone damaged bolts attached to the foundation of a turbine in Kahuku.
The suspects were seen running into the brush that leads to Kahuku High School.
Mark Miller, Chief Operating Officer for the AES US Generation businesses released the following statement:
“We are working closely with the Honolulu Police Department regarding an act of vandalism that occurred on the project site over the weekend. The incident, while troubling, will not impact the ongoing work to transport and construct the Na Pua Makani wind project.
Our focus remains on ensuring the safety of the North Shore community and everyone involved."
