When Bellator MMA brings its second event to Hawaii on December 21, 2019, Rio de Janeiro's Juliana Velasquez will be on the main card.

Honolulu's Ilima-Lei Macfarlane is set to face Kate Jackson in the main event but before that match-up was solidified earlier this month, Velasquez' name was in the mix for Macfarlane's next opponent.

Bellator MMA confirmed to KITV that the undefeated Velasquez (9-0) will take on Bruna Ellen (5-2) in a women's flyweight bout at the Neal Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu.

Ellen of Sao Paulo, Brazil last defeated Elina Kallionidou by unanimous decision in July at Bellator 224. It was at that same event in Oklahoma, Velasquez picked up a second round TKO win over Kristina Williams.

The headliner Macfarlane, has already successfully defended her women's flyweight belt three times, one of those being on home soil in December of 2018. This time around she tells KITV strength training is a key focus before her bout with Jackson.

"I've been doing a lot of weight lifting and I think that's going to be beneficial for this fight because she is actually very strong", explained Macfarlane.

Jackson appeared on season 23 of The Ultimate Fighter at strawweight. Since competing on the show in 2016, Jackson has gone 4-1 (2-1 in Bellator) and currently rides a two-fight winning streak.

The co-headliner in Honolulu will feature the first quarterfinal bout of the featherweight Grand Prix tournament, AJ McKee vs Derek Campos.

Bellator Hawaii will once again stream live exclusively on DAZN at 10:00 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT. Preliminary action will stream on Bellator.com, DAZN, and on the Bellator Mobile App. Tickets are on sale now through Bellator.com, Ticketmaster.com, or at the Blaisdell box office.
