Allison Valdez joined KITV in 2017 as a producer and on-call reporter and is now the newest member of the Island Weather team.

She's had a love for the stage since she was young - performing ballet in front of thousands of people then eventually taking up theatre in school. Those hobbies developed into a passion for journalism & broadcast news.

Allison is from Miami Beach, FL and majored in Telecommunications/News and minored in Sustainability at the University of Florida - graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2016.

Before moving to Hawaii, she interned at local news stations here in Honolulu and in Miami. Allison also worked as an Associate Producer, Chief Editor and on-call Multimedia Journalist in Gainesville, FL.

She now strives to make a difference in the world by telling stories important to the islands - one of her favorites included a trip to the Big Island to report on the first day evacuated residents in lower Puna were finally allowed to return to their homes in the aftermath of the 2018 Kilauea Eruption.

Whether it's behind the scenes as a producer or in front of the screen giving viewers the morning forecast, she aims to leave viewers informed and ready to start their day.

A family-oriented Filipina, Allison is thrilled to reunite with her relatives in Waipahu and Ewa Beach. Outside of work she enjoys hiking with her dog and relaxing at the beach with friends.
