Hawaii students organize climate strike, joining millions around the world
Around the islands, students in Hawaii are joining millions around the world in organizing their own climate strike.
There will be a march and rally next Friday from Governor Ige's mansion -- 'Washington Place' -- to the state capitol, then Honolulu Hale.
Students on Maui will strike at their UH campus in Kahului.
On the Big Island, they will wave signs along Bayfront Highway near the King Kamehameha Statue downtown.
Those on the Garden Isle will meet at Kauai Community College.
This comes after dozens of students gathered outside the White House as part of a school strike protest demanding action from political leaders on climate change.
