5.4 mag quake in Tonga; no tsunami warning for Hawaii
This afternoon, Tonga was rocked by a 5.4 magnitude earthquake.
It hit northeast of Hihifo, Tonga around 11 p.m. local time.
The Department of Emergency Management says there are no tsunami warnings or watches have been issued for the state of Hawaii.
"Since 1900 there have been 15 M7.5+ earthquakes recorded near New Zealand," reports the United State Geological Survey (USGS).
