7-hour standoff ends 'peacefully' after man barricaded himself in his Kapolei home
A man from Kapolei is in police custody tonight after a seven hour long standoff.
Police were attempting to serve a drug-related warrant on 40-year-old Cole Yoshikawa Jr. at his home but he refused to come out.
The barricade situation forced police to shut down streets off Fort Barrette Road and Kama'aha Avenue.
It also put some in the area on edge as they watched as police converged on the house.
"You don't know if anyone's gonna shoot anybody or fire what have, you have to be very very careful, with yourself, your family, your children," said nearby resident Warren McKeon.
Police were able to negotiate with the suspect and say the situation ended peacefully and without violence.
