Hawaii is voted the happiest state in the country in a new survey.

According to the WalletHub's 2019's Happiest States in America survey, people in Hawaii report the highest levels of wellbeing.

The annual report ranks all 50 states with indicators of happiness such as emotional and physical wellbeing, work environment and community environment.

Those indicators are then broken down into sub-indices like sleep rate, job security and income growth to gauge how happy Americans are in each state on a more micro level.

Utah, Minnesota, California and New Jersey also made the top five.
