New study links ground zero and cardiovascular disease
A new study found a link between cardiovascular disease and ground zero in New York City. It shows repeated exposure to dust during the clean-up led to a higher risk of heart disease as many as sixteen years later.
Firefighters were studied but anyone working in the area at the time could have been impacted. A link between toxins at the nine-eleven site and certain types of cancers has been shown in previous studies.
