Hawai'i named one of the safest states in the nation for keiki online
A new report shows Hawaii is one of the safest states for keiki online.
An annual report on the Safest and Most Dangerous States for Kids Online was released by CenturyLinkQuote.com recently breaking down information in all 50 states in the U.S.
The report focused on three different metrics to narrow down the results -- internet crime rate, cyberbullying, sexting laws and malware infection rate.
Hawaii rounded out the top three states that are the safest for children online -- only 21 victims under the age of 20 were affected by an internet crime in 2018. Louisiana came in a number one, and Arkansas at number two.
Alaska was ranked as the most dangerous state because the state has only five cyberbullying laws, there is no requirement for schools to implement cyberbullying policies, and no rules protecting children from sexting. Nevada was the second more dangerous state for children online.
