Grant allows Hawaii's 911 call centers to be upgraded
Hawaii's 911 call centers will be modernized due to a nearly $200,000 grant.
The U.S. Departments of Transportation and Commerce are giving the money to upgrade 911 services. These upgrades include modernizing the emergency system and improving public safety through text message, video processing and mapping capabilities.
Dozens of other states are also getting part of the $109 million grant.
