UPDATE: Dog buried in sand now 'loving life and healing'
A dog found buried in the sand earlier this month is now healing, according to the non-profit animal rescue that took her in.
PAWS of Hawaii posted an update on Leialoha to their Facebook page Monday afternoon, saying that many would not be able recognize her after all that she has been through.
When Leialoha was found she was sunburned, had lesions and swollen limbs. Even after being cleaned up, most of her hair was gone, and her skin was covered in bloody patches.
But now, according to PAWS of Hawaii, "Leialoha is playful, happy, smiling, loving life and healing from all her injuries."
The rescue also sends out a big mahalo to her foster mother and those who donated and sent the dog supplies.
