Social media post calling all workers in Hawaii's tourism industry to take Monday off
To fuel the anti-TMT movement, there’s a call out to hospitality workers and those in the visitor industries across the state to stop for one day.
Throughout this demonstration KITV4 has seen groups not just here on the Big Island - but across the state rise up in support of those staged here at the base of Mauna Kea - fighting the construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope.
The post by Puuhonua o Pu'uhuluhulu reads: "All we need is one day. Shut it down. We can afford to take one day off but the state can't afford to lose millions of dollars on the tourism industry...it's time to stop the abuse of our aloha."
It is unclear how this call for action will pan out, KITV4 will have the latest updates.
