Convoy headed to HNL in opposition to TMT construction
A group of vehicles drove down the H-1 highway Wednesday afternoon protesting the construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope.
There were major delays along the highway, as drivers waved flags and chanted, some driving well below the speed limit.
Honolulu Police say three drivers were cited on H-1 west bound between UH and the Lunalilo offramp. Two drivers were cited for non-compliance with speed limit -- an $82 fine. A third motorist was cited for having an expired tax emblem -- a $70 citation.
Traffic is back to its usual pace.
