Attorney General of D.C. is suing the Marriott hotel chain for tacking on fees on top of advertised rates
Did Marriott pull a bait-and-switch on customers? The Attorney General of D.C. says 'yes' and now he's suing the hotel chain.
A lawsuit Tuesday against Marriott says they hid the true price of hotel rooms and charged hidden fees so they could make more money.
Here's how it works:
Some hotels advertise low daily room rates but when you go to book added "resort fees," "amenity fees," or "destination fees" are tacked on top of those advertised rates.
The Attorney General wants Marriott to pay those people back and start advertising the true prices up-front.
