Thursday evening, the Vehicular Homicide Section received a call from the Medical Examiner’s Office that the pedestrian involved in this collision succumbed to her injuries and died.

This is the 31st Traffic Fatality this year compared to 28 during the same time in 2018.


A motor vehicle collision occurred on June 27, 2019 at around 12:05 p.m. in the Kaneohe area.

The collision involved one GMC pick-up Truck and a pedestrian.

A 53-year-old Kailua woman was crossing Alaloa Street in the marked crosswalk when she was struck by a GMC pick-up truck that was being driven by a 54-year-old Honolulu man.

The pickup truck was making a left turn from Kahuhipa Street onto Alaloa Street.

The woman was taken to The Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition.

The male driver was not injured.

At this time, speed, alcohol, and drugs do not appear to be factors in the collision.
