WHAT IS NEW AT OHA?
It is an exciting time at OHA as we develop the agency?s new strategic plan that will help guide how we commit funding and resources. The new Strategic Plan will chart the course forward for how we help Hawaiians in 2020 and beyond. The process began in 2018 with the Trustees re-affirming their commitment to OHA?s vision and mission and identifying the strategic framework for the plan. And now we have moved into Phase 3 of the plan, engaging community and gathering mana?o.
HOW ARE YOU GATHERING COMMUNITY FEEDBACK?
We are hosting a series of 9 community meetings throughout the pae aina where community can share their mana?o on where OHA should focus its funding and resources to benefits Hawaiians. (SHOW MEETING SCHEDULE GRAPHIC) We will host a meeting this evening at the Lanai Community Center and followup next week with meetings in Kona, Hauula, Kauai and Molokai. For those interested in attending, RSVP firstname.lastname@example.org. The public is also invited to share mana?o on OHA's new strategic plan via a web survey on our website, www.oha.org/priorities.
WHAT CAN PEOPLE EXPECT AT THESE COMMUNITY MEETINGS?
We delve into issues that affect Hawaiians and the larger community, and share mana?o that is recorded and compiled. The web survey is a convenient way to walk through the same questions being posed at the community meetings and it can be done at your convenience. Whatever way you feel comfortable sharing — in person or online— we want you to engage and be a part of the process that will affect the way we move forward in serving the Hawaiian community.
