Governor David Ige signed into law the Hawaii Island natural disaster bill Tuesday.

The bill sets aside $60 million for relief efforts after last year's Kilauea eruption displaced more than 3,000 residents and destroyed more than 700 structures.

Part of the funds will act as a subsidy, and the County will have to report on how it uses the money.

According to Governor Ige, 75% of the costs to replace lost infrastructure will come from federal funds.
