One year ago, record rains thrashed parts of Kaua'i, causing major destruction and changing lives forever.

Destructive floods caused close to $100 million in damage.

The north shore, by far, was one of the areas hit the hardest.

14 landslides demolished the only highway in and out of Wainiha and Ha'ena, leaving residents landlocked.

Forceful flood waters ripped up roads and tossed vehicles around like toys.

Homes along Hanalei Bay were wrecked by hours and hours of rain. Residents recall how everything drastically changed overnight.

A KITV4 crew is currently on the Garden Isle -- join us Monday night at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to hear more stories of loss, fear, resilience, and community. Kaua'i floods, one year later.
