Wet and unstable conditions will continue across the eastern end of the state through Saturday, particularly windward areas, as an upper level low remains nearby. Flash flood watch for Maui and Hawaii island, locally heavy rainfall and possible thunderstorms throughout the day. Elsewhere, windward showers and day time highs 78-84 degrees. Winds up to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. A wind advisory is posted for portions of Maui county and Hawaii island. High surf advisory for the East 8-12', North 2-4', West and Sound 1-3'.
NWS reported, showers will be heavy at times, potentially leading to localized flooding for Maui and the Big Island today. A few thunderstorms will be possible over both islands today as well, with the threat transitioning to only the Big Island on Saturday. Elsewhere, clouds and showers will favor windward areas with a few showers reaching leeward sections from time to time. Improving conditions are expected across the entire state Sunday afternoon through early next week as the upper level disturbance pulls eastward and away from the island chain. Trades will remain strong through the weekend, then trend down early next week.
