Hawaii Department of Transportation officials released more details regarding a dump truck crash that occurred on the H-1 Freeway near Kunia.

Two HDOT Highways Division employees were injured in a vehicle collision and rushed to the hospital in serious condition.

HDOT says their thoughts and prayers go out to their injured colleagues and their families.

The collision happened while the two men were on duty and driving a dump truck on the H-1 freeway westbound near Kunia.

The truck crashed into the concrete center median, flipped over, and landed on the eastbound side of the median.

Initial witness statements indicated the HDOT truck was cut off and swerved to avoid a collision with the passenger vehicle.

At this time additional details into the collision are being gathered.

An overturned truck has slowed down traffic along the H-1 freeway headed eastbound Wednesday afternoon.

A possible cement or dump truck was headed westbound on the H-1, overturned and ended up on the eastbound side.

The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) reports that six fire units are on scene.

HFD says they expect to be working to clear the roadway for about one hour.

This is a developing story, more details to come and they surface.
