The University of Hawaii Baseball team defeated UC Davis in a Big West contest at Les Murakami Stadium Friday night by a score of 9-5.  Rainbow Warriors improve to 12-16 overall, 2-2 in the Big West Conference.

Rainbow Warrior starting pitcher Aaron Davenport game up three Aggie runs to open the game.  But the Bows struck right back in the bottom of the second inning.  Daylen Calicdan singled to bring across Ethan Lopez.  Tyler Murray knocked a basehit that plated two more.  Then Maaki Yamazaki reached off an error to score two more.  Altogether Hawaii scored five runs in the second frame.

Davenport finished with four runs allowed on eight hits through 6.2 innings of work.  He struckout two Aggie batters.

Game two of the series is Saturday at 6:35 p.m.  Cade Smith is expected to get the start on the pitcher's mound for the 'Bows.
