Kealoha and Puana expected in court for drug related charges
The siblings were indicted in February on 54 counts of abuse of power and illegal distribution of drugs.
HONOLULU - Former Honolulu Deputy Prosecutor Katherine Kealoha and her brother, Rudolph Puana are scheduled to make their second court appearance for drug related charges.
The siblings were indicted in February on 54 counts of abuse of power and illegal distribution of drugs. Both pleaded not guilty.
Court documents list oxycodone, fentanyl, and Xanax and details how Kealoha thwarted investigations into her brother's case and describes how Kealoha assigned herself as the prosecutor to an investigation after she was informed by law enforcement that Puana and another individual were buying and using cocaine.
Doing that gave enabled Kealoha to "steer law enforcement scrutiny away from her brother's felonious conduct in that drug conspiracy."
