The new official NFL season got underway on Wednesday and former Rainbow Warrior football player Marcus Kemp will be headed back to Kansas City after recieving a tender offer from the franchise.

It means he won't be able to negotiate a contract with any other team and if he choses not to accept the tender Kemp will have to sit out the 2019 season.

The tender means he will be on a one year contract at the NFL minimum which will be around $650K.

In 2017 he spent the year on the practice squad for the Chiefs and in 2018 played in 16 games in mostly a special teams role.
