HONOLULU - A woman is accusing a former Honolulu Police officer of sexually assaulting her while he was on-duty back in March of 2017.

In a civil lawsuit, Sarah Vargas claims police were responding to a domestic disturbance involving her friend.

According to court documents, Vargas was drunk. As one officer took the statement from her friend, Vargas claims the other officer took her into the bedroom and raped her.

She had a rape test at Tripler Army Medical Center the next morning. According to court documents, it confirmed the assault.

Since the incident, the Vargas family moved to California and the officer left HPD in 2008.

It's not known if he was disciplined, but he has not been charged.
