Man shot after struggle with Deputy Sheriff at Hawaii State Capitol
A man got in a struggle with a Deputy Sheriff at the Hawaii State Capitol.
Honolulu Police and Hawaii Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a fatal shooting that happened at the Capitol Rotunda Monday night.
Public Safety officials say around 8:30 a Deputy Sheriff was patrolling the area when he came across a man with a bottle of alcohol. The 20-something year old man then assaulted the deputy, that's when Public Safety officials said the deputy shot the man.
Sheriffs performed CPR until Honolulu Emergency Medical Service Officials arrived to transport him to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Law enforcement sources confirmed the man has died.
KITV4 cameras were rolling as an ambulance took the 30 something year old deputy sheriff to the hospital in stable condition -- but he requested further medical attention.
It's unclear what led to the alleged attack.
