Repaving work on Maui County to begin on streets in Wailuku and Kahului
The Department of Public Works reports that repaving work will begin this week on a Maui County project to repave five streets in Wailuku and five streets in Kahului.
Contractor Maui Kupono Builders LLC is scheduled to start the $522,600 project on Tuesday, Jan. 22, according to the Department.
Work is set for completion in mid April.
The Wailuku roadways include Wili Place and Halewili, Alako, Ea and Ono streets.
The Kahului roadways include Hanakai, Hanamau and Lalo streets; Hoohana Street from E. Kamehameha Avenue to Kalepo Place; and Hukilike Street from E. Wakea Avenue to Lalo Street.
Other work includes striping roadways and adjusting water valves and storm drain, water and sewer manholes.
The contractor’s working hours on most of the roadways will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays.
For streets in the Kahului industrial area, work hours will be from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
