HONOLULU - According to the website Zumper, when it comes to rent, Honolulu is the 12th most expensive city in the country. The site says on average, a one-bedroom unit costs about $1,700 per month. 

That ranking is actually down 5% from one year ago, when Honolulu came in 11th.

The most expensive city -- San Francisco, with and average of about $3,500 per month for a one-bedroom.

The top 5 most expensive cities in the U.S. are as follows:

The cheapest city -- Akron, Ohio, where rent for a one-bedroom is listed at $540 a month.
