Fried chicken frenzy! Raising Cane's opens on O'ahu
Over 200 people waited in the wind and rain to win free Cane's for a year at their grand opening Tuesday.
HONOLULU - If you love fried chicken -- Hawai'i's first Raising Cane's location just opened.
A crowd of people waited for Tuesday's grand opening. The fast-food joint is is known for its fried chicken, crinkle cut fries, special sauce and fresh-squeezed lemonade.
It's located on the ground floor of the new Hale Mahana apartments on University and South King Street.
It's popular in college towns on the mainland and is already popular in Hawai'i! Some people even waited in the wind and rain to win free Cane's for a year!
Michael Dazzo, who waited in line said, "The first time I had Cane's was about a year and a half ago and it was delicious; I had it every weekend for about a month. So having it free for a year is probably gonna save me a pretty penny."
The lucky group of 20 people will be eating free Cane's once a week for the next year.
Raising cane's is open daily until midnight.
