New hope is being offered for Hawaii's youth suffering from mental health issues.

OnTrack Hawaii is a program through the University of Hawaii at Manoa's Burns School of Medicine.

The program offers specialty care treatment for people aged 15 to 24 who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis, that could include among other symptoms: hallucinations, paranoia, and disorganized thinking.

"We have medication management, psychiatrists working with us to prescribe medication, we have individual therapy, family psychoeducation support. We also help people with things like getting back to work or getting back into school," OnTrack Hawaii Clinical Director David Cicero said.

The program is located in the Ala Moana building and offers its services regardless of ability to pay.
