The Hawaii Chamber of Commerce is donating $600,000 against the amendment that teachers will likely be voting for.

The Chamber President and CEO says voting no on the bill helps protect small businesses.

Sherry Menor-McNamara issued a statement saying "we believe this ballot initiative will raise the cost of living for businesses, their employees, and all residents of Hawaii, including teachers."

According to Menor-McNamara there is nothing that says the "surcharge" will only apply to million dollar investment properties.

Meanwhile, the teacher's union has raised half of one million dollars in support of the measure.
