Honolulu Police Department joins the nationwide lip sync battle
From Virginia to California, Seattle and now Honolulu, the lip sync challenge featuring police departments across the county has finally caught on the in the 50th state.
More than 70 Honoululu Police Department officers and civilian staff have just completed their latest mission.
A few months ago patrol officer Don Faumuina had the idea.
"I just said, you know what, if we're going to do something like this and the concept was really to just share our aloha with the world," Faumuina said.
The video was just released Thursday morning and is already among the most viewed on HPD's Youtube channel.
It showcases officer's talents that exist behind the badge.
According to the Honolulu Police Department, the video took over three weeks to complete and was done entirely by volunteers.
Now that it is complete, Honolulu Police hope it'll spark more interest in the department.
