MOUNTAIN VIEW, Hawaii - Members of a Mountain View family on the Big Island are still recovering from Hurricane Lane damage.  They told KITV they did their best to prepare for Olivia this time around.

"I added a gate, like a diversion gate. We added a couple other mounds, trenches, things like that. Most importantly, is the gate-hopefully it holds. We're just waiting on sandbags and other things that we need to prepare for to hold up to Olivia," said Cody Andrade, Mountain View Resident.

Andrade said flooding has always been a common problem in his neighborhood this time of year. He says, in total, the repairs may cost up to $10,000.
