HONOLULU - More than 350 scholarship recipients gathered at the Pomaikai Ballrooms at Dole Cannery for the annual Hawaii Community Foundation Scholarship breakfast. 

This year's event theme was "Heroes for Hawaii. CEO and President of the Hawaii Community Foundation said, "we're celebrating over 250 awards, more than $6,000,000 going into an investing in our kids future and the future of Hawaii."
Jhun Heinrich Domingo a computer science major at UH Manoa said, "I only have one guardian, which is my mother and she's been working two jobs since the very first thing I've known about her. So it's quite a sense of relief for her knowing that I will have a financial aid for without any worries for my college degree."

Students attending the event also got the opportunity to thank their donors for supporting their college education.
